Meet The Team

Principal Chiropractor
Dr Lee Johnson
I graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 2016 achieving a distinction in Masters of Chiropractic and following this I completed my post-graduate certificate in Medical Ultrasound. I have worked at Chiropractic clinics in Torquay, Teignmouth and Paignton since graduating and in October 2020 I achieved my dream of opening my own clinic in Dawlish. This has gradually expanded taking over a larger premise in September 2022 to accommodate the other therapies we now offer. This year we have expended further and are now delighted to also be able to offer our Chiropractic services in Dartmouth.
I’ve always enjoyed participating in sports, and while growing up I had my own difficulties with knee pain which limited my activities and caused me discomfort. This experience triggered an interest in chiropractic medicine and rehabilitation which led me onto my career path today. Although I have an interest in all musculoskeletal conditions, I am particularly passionate about sport, sport related injuries and functional exercises.
I strongly believe that just because a certain pain has become common for an individual it does not make it normal or that it is something you have to live with. I understand that injuries and pain can be detrimental to daily activities, whether that is how easily you can put your socks on, how much you can lift in the gym, how far you can hit a golf ball or how easily you can do the gardening. It is my belief that chiropractic treatment and if necessary an individually tailored exercise program can keep you doing the activities you enjoy.

Chiropractor
Dr Rob Stoyle
I graduated with a first-class degree from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC), where I was also awarded the Clinical Excellence Year Prize.
My journey into chiropractic care began in my teens when traditional therapy provided little benefit for my recurring sports injuries. After witnessing the positive impact chiropractic treatment had on my family’s long-term health issues, I sought care for myself and found significant relief for a persistent neck problem caused by a diving accident. This inspired me to pursue a career in chiropractic.
I employ a range of treatment modalities including spinal manipulative therapy, joint mobilisations, various soft tissue techniques and tailored rehabilitation programmes. In addition to my chiropractic degree, I hold a Level 3 extended diploma in sports massage, adding an extra dimension to my treatment approach.
Injuries and pain can significantly impact daily activities, but I am dedicated to helping patients of all ages achieve optimal health and return to the activities they love. I'm passionate about empowering individuals to reach their personal goals, whether it may be running a marathon, playing with grandchildren, or simply enjoying a walk to the local shops.
Outside of clinic life, I enjoy spending time on my family farm in Mid Devon and have a keen interest in sports, particularly football and cricket.

Osteopath / Medical Acupuncture
Hugh Mackay
I graduated with distinction from The University of St Mark and St John with a master degree in Osteopathic Medicine having previously worked as a Royal Marines Officer, Personal Trainer, and Nutritionist specialising in exercise therapy for lower back pain. Since graduating I have also gained my qualification in medical acupuncture and dry needling for musculoskeletal treatment. I have a particular interest in removing musculoskeletal pain and enabling patients to build sustainable habits that improve their health and longevity.
I enjoy rugby, rowing at sea, scuba diving, reading and skiing. I am fortunate to have travelled much of the world and my favourite trips include driving across America in a Mustang, and driving a Jeep Cherokee from the UK to Mongolia.
As well as treating patients at Coastal Chiropractic and Wellness Centre I work as a volunteer for Rock to Recovery (a mental health charity based in Exmouth), offering osteopathy to veterans, and blue light professionals, and their families.

Sports Massage Therapist / Practice Manager
Jenni Wilson
Here at Coastal Chiropractic and Wellness Centre in Dawlish I split my time working on reception as the clinics practice manager and providing massage therapy.

I've been treating clients for the past 3 years since qualifying in Level 3 Sports Massage at South Devon College. I also have qualifications in Hot Stone Massage Therapy and Pregnancy Massage Therapy.

I previously graduated from Plymouth University with an honours degree in Business Management in 2011 and enjoyed working in business for 10 years. But after all that time in a desk job and doing high intensity training in the gym I began to develop my own aches and pains. I started to receive regular chiropractic treatment and care from other complementary therapies. After realising how much this improved my wellbeing and the way I felt day to day I wanted to help others feel the same and enrolled to train in Sports Massage Therapy. I now enjoy helping people feel their best.

Pilates Instructor
Ann Ogden
I have been teaching Classical Pilates for over 10 years now and I am delighted to be part of the team at Coastal Chiropractic and Wellness Centre.

Originally I was a Professional Dancer but I had an injury which forced me into rehabilitation, and it was here I found my love for Pilates. I felt the full benefits of using Pilates, and this helped me get back to work. I went on to train as a Level 3 Mat and Equipment teacher. My further training also includes Pre and Post Natal Pilates, MS, Osteoporosis and 50+ Pilates.
Pilates is for everyone, whether you are rehabilitating from injuries, looking for ways to support yourself with existing conditions or training for high level Sports and competitions, Pilates meets your needs.

Yoga Instructor
Leigh Watkinson
I’ve been studying and practicing yoga for nearly 20 years and was previously a qualified fitness class instructor.
I currently live in Dawlish, Devon after relocating from Hertfordshire in 2015. I love living by the sea surrounded by forests and trees and I'm very appreciative of how lucky that makes me. When not walking my two huskies I also enjoy baking and trying out new recipes, so if you ever follow me on Facebook be prepared for lots of pics of dogs and food!
I really enjoy helping people to learn yoga that may have previously been curious about it but a bit intimidated to just turn up at a class. Enjoying yoga is about finding the right postures and positions FOR YOU and not the perfect images that are sometimes used for Yoga promotion.
Yoga really is for everyone and you'll be surprised at the many benefits you will see in a relatively short space of time.

Counsellor
Paige Rideout
I offer one to one in person counselling sessions
for over 18s exploring all kinds of problems. I am a friendly and bubbly person who loves to sit and listen. I welcome anyone and everyone into the counselling room and will work collaboratively with you so you can get the most from our sessions. The space I offer is private, warm, safe and confidential so you can explore freely anything you may need to. I offer long-term
and short-term sessions to suit you and this can be reviewed anytime.
Being an 'integrative' counsellor means I am trained in various forms of counselling
and use a range of techniques in my sessions. I mainly work in a 'humanistic' way which simply means I aim to support you, in a non-judgemental, empathetic way and empower you to find your own way whilst holding the space to do that. However, I am also able to integrate other techniques and interventions into
the sessions to best help you. I aim to work in a collaborative way, giving you the tools to navigate through life whilst having frequent conversations about the work we
are doing and finding the best way to support you. Some people may find it difficult
to verbally communicate how they are feeling. I offer alternative ways to explore emotions and behaviour through creative forms such as drawing, writing, musically or through movement like dance.
A little about me. I began my journey as a counsellor in 2020 at South Devon
College and worked up to complete a FdSc in Psychology and Counselling Skills. I went on to complete my degree in Social and Therapeutic Interventions at the University Centre, South Devon, graduating in 2024. I enjoy listening to people's life stories and understanding them better and love to watch people as they flourish and become a fully realised person. I want to offer support to help others overcome their battles, no matter how big or small. My life was changed for the better, twice, because of the support I received through counselling.
